Consul General Zhang Qiyue Meets with Governor Malloy of Connecticut

On Mrach 6th, Consul General Zhang Qiyue visited Hartford, CT and met with Governor Malloy. Also be at the meeting were Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Catherine Smith, President of the Board of Regents for Higher Education Gregory Gray and Assistant Vice Provost for Global Affairs of University of Connecticut Yuhang Rong.

Consul General Zhang talked about the China-US relation, China-Connecticut relation, as well as the Chinese economic development. She commended the progress in trade and education between Connecticut and China and hoped that both sides will continue to deepen cooperations and contribute to the China-US relation.

Governor Malloy and the others said that Connecticut values its relationship with China. After two visits to China, the Governor intends to work closely with Connecticut's sister state, Shangdong Province, and looks forward to further developing the state's cooperation with China. It is also hoped that the local students will get more opportunity to be exchanged to China.
