Deputy Consul General Cheng Lei attends Inaugural Ceremony of the Governor of Maine

On January 7, Mr. Cheng Lei, Chinese Deputy Consul General, attended Maine Governor Paul LePage's Inaugural Ceremony on behalf of Consul General Zhang Qiyue in the capital city of Maine, where the Governor was inaugurated for his second term.

Members of Maine Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Judicial Court, the Governor's cabinet, Mainers from all walks of life, and foreign representatives from Canada, Pakistan, Germany and New Zealand and other countries attended the ceremony. Mr. Cheng also attended the Consular Corps Reception held by Maine state government later on.

On the sideline of the Inaugural Ceremony, Mr. Cheng held a meeting with Mr. Wade Merritt, Vice President of Maine International Trade Center, Department of Economic and Community Development of Maine, during which both exchanged views on mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Maine, especially the economic and trade relations.
