Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping Attends Chinese New Composition Symphony Concert at Carnegie Hall

On November 24, 2023, the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) Symphony Orchestra successfully premiered eight contemporary Chinese composers’ concertos and orchestral works at Carnegie Hall. The concertwon the hearts of the audience of over a thousand people on a holiday night. Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping, Vice President of CCOM Qin Wenchen , Educational Counsellor Yu Yougen and Cultural Counsellor Shang Jiyuan attended the concert.

In an interview after the concert, Consul General Huang Ping said:“Music is beyond boarders and builds up bridges. Music and cultural exchanges enhance mutual understanding and ensure mutual trust between Chinese and American peoples. At the recent China-US summit in San Francisco, President Xi Jinping pointed out that to promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges is one of the five pillars for the stable growth of China-US relationship. CCOM’s performance at Carnegie Hall follows closely with the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and turns out to be a successful practice. ”
