Chinese Consulate General in New York Hosts National Day Reception

On September 13, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping and Madam Zhang Aiping held a reception for the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.



In his speech, Consul General Huang Ping highlighted the achievements of China’s development and expressed his hope for the improvement of China-US relations.


Former US Under Secretary of State Robert Hormats, Former Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel, President of the National Committee on US-China Relations Stephen Orlins and Vice President Jan Berris, Former President of the World Bank Group Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy Susan Elliott and Director of Asian Affairs of NYS Governor’s Executive Chamber Elaine Fan delivered remarks at the reception. China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Dai Bing, President of the Foreign Policy Association Noel Lateef, Former US Ambassador to Singapore David Adelman, New York City Council Member Christopher Marte, Regional Director at OFM’s New York Regional Office Alexander Hardin, President and CEO of the New York Philharmonic Gary Ginstling, representatives from foreign missions in New York as well as nearly 400 guests participated in the event.



Guests enjoyed performances like Pipa duet Send Me A Rose, Shujian Dance, the song Moon River with piano accompaniment and the song Toasts to China. They also tasted Chinese delicacies at the reception.
