On August 12, 2023, Chinese Consul General Huang Ping attended 2023 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in NY and delivered a speech. U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, Mayor of New York City Eric Adams, New York State Assemblyman Edward Braunstein and Assemblymember Jenifer Rajkumar, NYC Comptroller Brad Landers, NYC Council member Sandra Ung, Queens Borough President Donavan Richards, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York Candy Nip also spoke at the event. Representatives from the offices of New York State Governor and more than 50 local guests attended the event. The Consulate dragon boat team, led by Consul General Huang Ping, participated in the dragon boat race for the first time.
