        Consuls of the Chinese Consulate General in New York will be in Columbus to accept passport, visa and authentication applications on Aug. 29 (Sun.), 2004.

        1. Please be noticed that the office hours is from 9:00am-2:00pm. The address is:

        2. Only Chinese passport renewal, replacement, visa applications and authentications will be accepted.

        3. Please visit our website for detailed information on passport, visa and authentication applications, and make sure that you have prepared all required materials in advance. Application forms may be downloaded and printed from our website.

        4. Please prepare a fully prepaid, self-addressed envelope. We accept Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, UPS, DHL only. Please present the envelope with due postage to consuls along with your application.

             You are suggested to use your home or office address both as sender and addressee to make sure that your document will returned to you. Pleae write your telephone on the envelope.

        5. Applicants must pay the fees for visas or authentications on the spot after you present your application. We only accept cash, money order and company check made payable to the "Chinese Consulate General in New York".

            1) Chinese passport renewal: $10 per passport;

            2) Chinese passport replacement: $55 per passport;

            3) Single entry visa valid for 3 months: $50 per visa for American citizen;

            4) 2-entry visas valid for 6 months: $75 per visa for American citizen;

            5) Multiple entry visas valid for 6 months: $100 per visa for American citizen;

            6) Multiple entry visas valid for 12 months: $150 per visa for American citizen.

            7) Authentication regarding business, property: $40 per document;

            8) Civil document authentication: $20 per document.

        Please refer to relevant instructions on our website for more information about the fees of relevant documents.

        6. A pickup form will be given to you when you submit the documents, required materials, photos and stamped envelope to the consuls. Please pay at cashier desk with the pickup form immediately.

        7. It will take 15 working days to process your applications. Please be noticed that there is no rush service. Applicants who intend to use the documents in 30 days are not suggested to apply in Columbus.

        8. The following applications will be refused:

            1) Applications other than passport renewal, replacement, visa applications and authentications;

            2) Applications failed to meet the required materials;

            3) No self-prepared envelope with due postage;

            4) Application fees unpaid;

            5) Documents to be used within 30 days;

            6) Applications after 2:00pm of August 29, 2004.

        Your documents will be returned to you within 25 days. If you do not receive your documents at that time, please dial 212 868 2074, input your tracking number and press "#" to check the status of your documents.

        9. There is no photo and copier service and no post office nearby, please make sure to prepare all the necessary materials, forms, copies, photos, return envelope with due postage in advance.
