The Chinese Consulate General in New York Held the 5th “Media Meeting of Minds”

On November 16, the Chinese Consulate General in New York invited Ambassador Nicholas Platt, President Emeritus of the Asia Society, who witnessed the Philadelphia Orchestra’s first trip to China, Matias Tarnopolsky, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Jeffrey Greene, Chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation to virtually attend the 5th “Media Meeting of Minds” with Chinese media in our consular district. Both Mr. Tarnopolsky and Mr. Greene recently received a reply letter from President Xi Jinping. Deputy Consul General Qian Jin hosted the event. Journalists from Xinhua News Agency, CGTN, China Daily, China News Service, The World Journal, The China Press, Sing Tao Daily, Chinese Radio Network, and SinoVision came to report the event.  

In their remarks, the three guests spoke highly of President Xi’s meeting with President Biden and his speech at the Welcome Dinner by Friendly Organizations in the US. Recalling their experience and feelings of visiting China and communicating with Chinese people, they said they are all full of hope of the future of the China-US relations because the bonds between the two peoples are closely intertwined. Starting from San Francisco, it is believed that the two peoples will continue to move forward our friendship and push our bilateral relations to the right track of sound and stable development. The guests also answered questions from the media.
