On November 4, the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Alliance for China’s Peaceful Reunification, USA (ACPR) was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng sent a congratulatory letter to the event. Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The event was co-hosted by the China Peaceful Reunification Association of Pennsylvania and the Great Philadelphia China Unification promoting Association with more than 100 participants across the U.S. as well as experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait attending the event.

In the congratulatory letter, Ambassador Xie Feng fully recognized the great efforts the ACPR has been making to advance the cause of peaceful reunification of China and contributing to the stability and development of China-U.S. relations. He emphasized that the Taiwan question is at the very core of the core interests of China, the bedrock of the political foundation of China-U.S. relations, and the first red line that must not be crossed in China-U.S. relations. He pointed out that pursuing national reunification and realizing national rejuvenation is the historical responsibility and a glorious mission of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad. It is hoped that the ACPR will continue to play an active role in countering the “Taiwan independence” separatist activities, defending the one-China principle, maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and contributing to the sound development of China-U.S. relations.

In his speech, Consul General Huang Ping paid tribute to all friends who have long supported China's peaceful reunification. He said that the overseas Chinese in the U.S. play a key part in promoting the development of cross-Strait relations and the peaceful reunification of China. He hoped all overseas Chinese continue to play a bridging role in explaining how China’s peaceful reunification benefits not only China, but the U.S. and the entire world, and jointly advance China-U.S. friendship as well as the great cause of peaceful reunification of China.

A Forum themed on the Impact of China-U.S. Relations on the Cross-Strait Situation was held at the meeting. Participants had warm discussions on Taiwan question and exchanged views on further advancing China-U.S. relations and China’s peaceful reunification.
